Wheelers Hold Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Glen E. Wheeler of Lineville celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Easter Sunday with open house.

Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler exchanged nuptial vows at Browning, Mo., April 18, 1904. Mr. Wheeler erected the first garage in Lineville and was a business man there for many years.

They are parents of three daughters, Mrs. C. A. Cox, Des Moines; Mrs. S. R. Davis, Mercer, Mo. and Mrs. Robert P. Crouse, of Leon.

Approximately one hundred and fifty people visited the couple, extending them best wishes and showering them with gifts.

Mrs. Otto Johnson of Browning, Mo., sister of Mrs. Wheeler, who assisted at the reception table wore an apron fifty years old. Others assisting were Mrs. John Abrams, Esther McAninch, Des Moines, Mrs. Roy Smith, Leon and Mrs. C. A. Cox. Among the guests from out of town included Mr. and Mrs. Otto Johnson, Mrs. T. J. Bennett, Miss Pauline Hooker, Browning, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Perry and Mrs. Donna Frampton, Allerton; Paul Smith, Mr. and Mrs. John Abrams, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Cox, Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bennett, Browning, Mo.; Mrs. Dela Brendt and two children, Kansas City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Crouse, Leon; Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Davis and son, John and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sims and two children of Mercer, Mo.

Glen was a prominent Lineville, Iowa businessman and a rare coin collector.
