Quiet Wedding

At the beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Hooker five miles west of Browning, Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock, a quiet wedding took place being that of their daughter Miss Florence to Glen Irvin Wheeler of Lineville, Iowa. They were united by Rev. J. W. Alexander of Liberty, Missouri. The bride is a beautiful and loving young woman and will be greatly missed by her many friends. The groom is one of Lineville’s most successful and intelligent business men and liked by all. The bride wore a costume of white silk mull beautifully and artistically arranged, becoming her beauty. The groom wore a suit of black broadcloth. They marched into the parlor to Mendleson’s wedding march where the ceremony was performed. The bride’s sister Miss Ada officiated at the piano. After congratulations were extended all were invited into the dining room where a dainty repast was served. Many nice presents were presented. The guests were John Fishback, Miss Alice Gable, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bennett and Miss Alice Horton of Chillicothe. Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler left for Lineville where they expect to make their future home.

LINEVILLE, April 13 -- Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wheeler of South Lineville will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, April 18 and will entertain at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. All neighbors, friends and relatives are cordially invited.

GOLDEN WEDDING CELEBRANTS

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn E. Wheeler of South Lineville, Mo., will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Easter Sunday with open house from 2 to 4. They were married April 20, 1904.

Mr. Wheeler, who is a rare coin collector, built and owned the first garage erected in Lineville, Iowa, in 1912. He operated a garage and filling station most of his life and lived on their farm in Mercer county, Mo., 16 years. He retired in 1930. Mrs. Wheeler was a dress designed (sic) and dressmaker for several years. He is 78 and she is 73.

The Wheelers have three daughters, Mrs. C. A. Cox, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. S. R. Davis, Mercer, Mo., and Mrs. Robert P. Crouse, Leon, Iowa.

Celebrated Golden Wedding At Lineville

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn E. Wheeler of Lineville celebrated their effect wedding anniversary Sunday with open house from two until four o’clock in the afternoon. A group of one hundred and thirty-five visited the couple during the afternoon.

At the reception table were Mrs. John Abrams, Mrs. C. A. Cox and Miss Esther Davis, Des Moines; Mrs. Otto Johnson, Miss Pauline Hooker of Browning, Missouri and Mrs. Joe Sims of Mercer, Missouri assisted.

Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler exchanged nuptial vows at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Hooker in Browning, Missouri on April 20, 1904.

The three daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler were present. They include Mrs. Cox, Des Moines; Mrs. S. R. Davis, Mercer, Mo. and Mrs. Robert Crouse, Leon.

Among the out of the city guests were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Johnson, Mrs. T. J. Bennett, Miss Pauline Hooker, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bennett, Browning, Missouri; Mrs. M. J. Berndt and children Diane Lynn and Larry Keith, Kansas City, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sims and children Linda Marie and Joe Dale, S. R. Davis and son, John, Mercer, Missouri; John Abrams, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Cox, Paul Smith, Arlo Cox, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs Roy S. Smith and Robert P. Crouse, Leon.

Observe 50th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Glen E. Wheeler of South Lineville observed their golden wedding anniversary Sunday with an open house in the afternoon.

They were married April 20, 1904. Mr. Wheeler is 78 years old and Mrs. Wheeler is 73. Mr. Wheeler owned the first garage in Lineville, building it in 1912. He also farmed in Mercer County until he retired in 1930. Mrs. Wheeler was a dress designer and seamstress for several years.

They are the parents of three daughters, Mrs. Robert P. Crouse of Leon, Ia., Mrs. C. A. Cox of Des Moines and Mrs. S. R. Davis of Mercer.

The reception was attended by 150 guests. Assisting were their daughters and Mrs. Wheeler’s sister, Mrs. Otto Johnson, Browning, Mo.; two granddaughters, Mrs. John Abrams and Miss Esther Davis, Des Moines, and Mrs. Roy Smith, Leon, Ia.

Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Johnson, Mrs. T. J. Bennett and Miss Pauline Hooker, Browning, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Perry and Mrs. Ralph Framption, Allerton, Ia.
