bullet  General Notes:

Marie Adélaïde, Madame Quatrième, known as Madame Adélaïde (March 23, 1732 - February 27, 1800) was a French princess. She was the fourth daughter and sixth child of Louis XV of France, and outlived all nine of her siblings. Called "Torch" by her father, she and her sisters were referred to as plump, clumsy old wenches.

Adélaïde despised her father's last official mistress, Madame du Barry, and used her niece, Marie Antoinette, as a weapon against her.

Adélaïde died in exile in the French émigré society at Rome.

Despite her lack of charm in later life, Adélaïde was pretty when young. 1897
