Where did Sarah die? (See below)

Jan, 2002 - "I am a volunteer at Worcester Co. Library and have been attempting to find an obituary for your Sarah (Sallie) E. Jones but have been unable to do so. I also checked cemetery records for Worcester and Somerset Cos. There are several Sarah's and Sallie's but the dates do not match."

Jan, 2002 - Md. State Archives responded to request for death certificate for Sarah E. Truitt, died Jan. 22, 1914. "We are unable to provide a copy or record extract of the record you requested. We have checked the death record indexes for Maryland?s 23 counties from 1914-1923 but found no references."

It is virtually certain that all of Sarah's children were born in Worcester County. I have a 1795 map of the area showing where the various Jones familes lived and they are all on the Worcester side of the county boundary as is the Jones Family Cemetery containing Sarah?s grave. The nearby village of Whiton is bisected by the Wicomico/Worcester county line so people born in Whiton could be from either county.

I saw this TRUITT info from a cemetery on Message Board Post: I posted a partial transcription of Mount Zion Church Cemetery to Wicomico County Gen Web. I am a descendant of Hetty Coulbourne Jones Tilghman. There is also another cemetery behind Mount Zion a few miles down with just the graves of her husband, herself, and her children which I want to transcribe but haven't found yet. Susan Whittington originally posted these cemeteries and I have saved her email. Her father also tried to transcribe the cemetery this summer for Hettie but th... ?

Recently while on a hunting trip, my husband came across the same cemetery. In addition to the ones already posted yesterday. These were across the swamp from the others: - Henry Jones, May 4, 1804 - June 4, 1849 - Daniel H. Jones, December 23, 1843 - July 13, 1849 - Jame P.T. Jones, May 30, 1847 - September 17, 1852 (Son of Henry & Hettie Jones) - Hetty L. S. Tilghman, May 6, 1821 - October 20, 1855 (Wife of Samuel T.H. Tilghman) A while back a relative took me to a small Jones family cemetery in the Whiton (Worcester County) area. It is in an undeveloped area where the family home once stood and the stones are still in good shape. I don't know who the current property owners are. Persons buried there are: - Benjamin R. Jones 12/21/1843 - 11/19/1897 - Sarah G. (wife of Benj. R. Jones) 8/1/1851 - 7/10/1915 - Samuel G. Jones (son of Benj and Sarah) 5/17/1885 - 11/22/1912 - Elizabeth, wife of William Jones 4/7/1830 - 4/9/1896 - Alice Lee Jones, wife of Purnell Ruark 2/17/1869 - 5/18/1896 - Thomas P. Jones 6/29/1829 - 3/4/1871 - Sallie E. [Truitt], wife of Thomas P. Jones 9/12/1833 - 1/22/1914 - Little Martha, daughter of Thomas P. and Sallie E. Jones, age 2 years 1695
