At the time DAVIS DATA was compiled, it was thought that Ben was born in Wales. Based on information from LuRee's disc and a biography of Jefferson F. Davis written by William C. Davis (no known relationship) and published in 1991 it appears that he was probably born in Philadelphia, PA. It seems likely that he was the oldest of six children born to Evan Davis and his wife Mary who came from Wales about 1700 or 1701. 2062
