Margaret Anna "Peg" Truitt ¹⁸²⁷

In July 1998 the Clarview Nursing Home honored Margaret "Peg" Rhodes:

While attending school, Peg worked on her family's farm until she married Lester Rhodes in 1928. The Rhodes had four children.

Peg worked at Damon's Factory in East Brady during World War II making shells for ammunition. When Lester passed away in 1964, she learned to decorate cakes to raise money to support her family.

Peg became well-known locally for her skills and eventually sold her creations in the Pittsburgh area. She soon began working at Weston's Bakery in Rimersburg, which later became Bixler's Bakery. She worked there until retirement in 1960. However, she continued to bake for individuals from her home.

Peg was also an active volunteer. She was a member of Licking-Cherry Run Presbyterian Church. She is a member of the VFW Auxiliary, an organization for which she served as president for a time, and is still active with the Clarview Auxiliary. She was recently named 1998 Queen of Clarview. ¹⁸²⁷
