Erma Hall Shipley Neeper
Erma Hall Shipley Neeper, 95, of Sweetwater, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
A family visitation will be held Friday, July 2, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Metzger and Dr. Mark Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Neeper was born Oct. 28, 1908, in Roby. She married John N. "Jack" Shipley June 26, 1932, in Sweetwater. After the death of her first husband, she married Lloyd Neeper on May 8, 1983. Neeper was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was a lifelong resident of Sweetwater and Fisher County. She was a bookkeeper working at Levi's & Hixon's & Minter's and Joe Liner's department stores.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Taylor and husband, L.B. of Sweetwater; one grandson, Mark Taylor of Bedford; one granddaughter, Melissa Taylor of College Station; one stepson, Leland Neeper and wife, Ruth of Longview; two step grandchildren, Lane Neeper of Kentucky and Mary Lee Steele of Jackson, Miss.; and special family friends, Betty Turner, William R. Turner and Thomas F. Turner.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John N. "Jack" Shipley on March 1, 1979.
Pallbearers will be Mark Taylor, William R. Turner, Thomas F. Turner, Kent Boatright, Tom Langford and John Young.
