OBITUARY

Rebecca Elizabeth Truitt, daughter of Thomas and Priscilla Stevenson Truitt, was born at Quincy, Lewis county Kentucky Nov. 15, 1862, and departed this life at her home in Blue Mound December 28, 1943, at the age of 81 years.

At the age of five years she moved with her parents to Quincy, Ill, and two years later of Coffey Co. Kansas, residing near Waverly.

She was united in marriage to William Henry Moore June25, 1884 at the home of her parents. Mr. Moore preceded her in death February 4, 1924.

To this union two sons and three daughters were born:Mrs. Edith Smith, San Pedro, Calif.; Mrs. Laura O?Hara, Blue Mound;Warren Moore, Great Bend, Kans.; Paul Moore, Waverly, Kans. And Mrs. Ethel West, Blue Mound; also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters and 1 brother also survive.

The family moved to Blue Mound in September 1894 and have lived in this vicinity since except for two years spend near Kansas City.

Mrs. Moore joined the Methodist church in her girlhood and has lived a faithful Christian life since. She was regular in her church attendance and always did her part in all its services. She was a loving mother and a good neighbor.

Funeral services were held Friday Dec. 31st, 2 p.m. in the Methodist church with Rev. Ira C. Willard in charge.

Music by mixed quartet: D. F. Patterson, E. E. Howerton, Lorene Bayless, Mrs. Marie Hyde; Mrs. Cleta Oorttor [Horter?] pianist. Songs: Under His Wing, Face to Face, Old Rugged Cross.

Pallbearers: Chas. Edgerly, Clomer West. Elmer Staples, Wm. Grasty, Robt. Leonard, M. C. Eby.
