bullet  General Notes:

Jane went from North Carolina, USA to Kentucky, USA with her brother, Saxegotha, her mother and the wife and children of Saxegotha. They drove an ox team. They remained at the home of Simon Truitt at Quincy for a time. Saxegotha built a home in Fleming County, Kentucky, USA, but was not satisfied, so moved on to Missouri, USA. Jane refused to leave Simon's home to go with Saxegotha -- she had become fond of Saxegotha's children, especially James, the baby at the time. Jane was of an excentric disposition. Simon had a room built on his home for her and she remained even after the death of Simon, and Simon's children cared for her as they did their mother. One relative stated that the doctor said Jane could have recovered from her last illness if she had wanted to do so, but she refused her medicine saying she had lived long enough. Jane is buried in the Old Truitt Cemetery, on Montgomery Road, near Quincy, Lewis, Kentucky, USA. She remained single. 1720
