WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Weavers near golden date
Windber - Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Weaver will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and an open house at 7 p.m. Saturday at the fellowship hall of the Berkey Church of the Brethren. Mr. Weaver and the former Alpha Shaffer were married Oct. 22, 1934, at the parsonage of the church by the late Rev. John Graham. Mr. Weaver was born June 3, 1915, in Windber, son of the late Harry and Effie (Blough) Weaver. Mrs. Weaver was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Windber, daughter of Ida (Lehman) Shaffer, who now resides at the Scalp Level Church of the Brethren Home, Paint Borough, and the late Alonzo Shaffer. Mr. Weaver is a retired miner. The Weavers are the parents of five children: Shirley, wife of Orlando Eash; Janet, wife of Roy Moore; Ronald; Carolyn, wife of Clarence Anderson; and Gary, married to the former Joan Anderson. There are 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
