PA.18 He was baptized on 21 APR 1778 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA. He died on 10 MAR 1845 in Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA. He married Eliza (or Elizabeth)) Witmer 21 Jun 1805, in Lancaster Co., PA. She died 26 Oct 1836, age 56, in Lancaster, PA. She was the daughter of Abraham and Mary "Molly" (Herr) Witmer.

In the 1800 census, there is a Paton Ross in Lancaster, Lancaster Co., page 40, with 1 male 16-26, 1 female under 10, and 1 female 16-26. Either his marriage date with Eliza/Elizabeth is incorrect or he was married to another woman before 1805. There is also the possibility that they were living together, unmarried.

At death, he was the oldest member of the Bar in Lancaster. At one time he was Recorder of that city.
