I was searching for Marie Brookshire's connection. She lived in North Carolina and died in Iredell County. She was connected to Nathan Brookshire of Texas. I visited with two of the family living on the property south of Brookshire, Texas. They were kind enough to show me the private cemetery on the property. They indicated that the site was at one time the city cemetery. With all the stories told Nathan Brookshire was buried in Ft. Bend a few miles from the Brookshire property. When Mary Ann died in Houston both Nathan and Mary Ann were buried in a site together. I really think that no one is sure. I did not see anything in the family cemetery that indicated they were there. It might be unmarked.
I enjoyed looking at all the Brookshires. I hope somehow I can connect my branch to one of those family members. Thank you so much for the information. Al Slabbaert Houston, Texas.
