HOOKER-MOODY NUPTIAL
The marriage of Miss Evelyn Hooker, daughter of Mrs. George Hooker, to Pvt. Morris Moody of Bakersfield, Texas, occurred at 7 o’clock, Friday evening at the home of the brides mother.
The single ring ceremony was read by the Reverend Roy Donelson.
Attendants were, Mr. and Mrs. David Moody, brother and sister-in-law, of the groom, Mrs. Hooker and Mrs. Donelson.
The bride wore a brown suit with brown accessories and the groom his service uniform.
After the wedding dinner at the home the happy couple drove to Kansas City where they entrained for Woodland, Calif., to the home of the groom’s father, Orsen Moody for a week’s honeymoon.
The bride is one of Lineville’s popular young ladies. She has taught in our public schools five years and after their bridal honeymoon will return and finish her school year.
The groom, a mechanic in the Air Crop, was a Woodland, Calif., stock farmer before entering the service of three years ago. He is now stationed at Bakersfield, Texas.

Evelyn Beatrice (Hooker) Moody of Woodland, CA, was born July 24, 1912, in Mercer County, near Lineville, IA, and died February 23, 1995, in Fresno, CA, at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 11 days. She was the daughter of George H. Hooker and Henda E. Johnson.
Evelyn married Morris John Moody of Garden Grove, IA, February 2, 1945, in Lineville, IA. John preceded her in death May 4, 1964. He was a farmer and Veteran of WWII. Evelyn was a teacher.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Evalyn (sic) and Camille; and by one brother, Elvin (sic) Earl.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Alexander Moody and wife Dottie (Peters) Moody and children, Edwin Reed Moody and wife Helen Louise (Fox) Moody and children; and one sister, Marcille Miles and her husband Hubert Miles.
Evelyn and John were members of the Bethel Church in Sacramento, CA.
Interment was in Monument Hills Memorial Park, Woodland, CA. 124
