Thomas Veach ¹⁷¹⁸

Notes from "History of Scioto County, Ohio" : It was stated that Mary and Thomas came to KY from NC about 1800 using three horses; that two children rode on one horse, the mother, carrying a child rode another horse, and one horse was used as a pack horse. The father walked.

But according to Mildred Truitt's findings, they came to KY in 1799, and the third child was born in Fleming County, KY.

Mary and Thomas moved from Kentucky, USA to Scioto County, Ohio, USA, for a short time, and then to Lewis County, Kentucky, USA. Thomas owned much land in Fleming, Bourbon, Lewis & Greenup Counties. At the time of his death he still owned 12,500 acres in Greenup and Lewis Counties.

It is thought that Thomas and Mary are buried in an old cemetery between Firebrick and St. Paul, Lewis County, Kentucky, USA, near where the old RR tracks are now, but part of this cemetery washed away and these graves were not located. ¹⁷¹⁸

Thomas married Mary Truitt, daughter of Samuel Truitt Jr. and Mary Collins, in 1793 in Surry County, North Carolina, USA.¹⁷¹⁸ (Mary Truitt was born on 26 Oct 1767 in Broad Creek, Sussex, Delaware, USA ¹⁷⁰⁰ and died in 1830 in Lewis County, Kentucky, USA ¹⁷¹⁸.)
