William Keith "Keith" Fisher I

  General Notes:

Keith attended Eaton, Indiana schools, graduating from Eaton High School in 1935. In 1939 he graduated from Ball State Teachers College, Muncie, Indiana with an A.B. degree in Education, specializing in Music. In the 1939-40 school year he was employed as a music instructor in Lawrence Co., Ohio where he met and later married a fellow teacher, Isabelle Wills.

From 1941 to 1945 he served in World War II as a member of the 4th, 5th, 8th, and 12th Armored Divisions. After his return from European theater in 1945, he was employed for 5 years as H.S. band director and music supervisor by the Ironton City Schools, Ironton, Ohio. Keith continued his music studies at the Cincinnati Conservatory and University of Michigan In 1951 until 1983 he was employed by Ashland Oil, Inc., mainly as a Credit Manager. During that period he continued his education at Ohio University and Dartmouth College. Retired since 1983, Keith's principal pursuit is genealogy, an interest inspired by reading THE STUDEBAKER FAMILY IN AMERICA-1736-1976.
