EMANUEL RENCH # b 1830 Newton Twp Miami Co OH s/o Jacob Rench & Susannah Blickenstaff m 1855 NANCY A MORGAN b IL d/o Marshall Morgan & Elizabeth Boggs. Emanuel was reared on a farm and spent a great deal of time driving a team of oxen. His education was obtained under the difficulties of pioneer life . At the age of 15 he began work in his father’s distillery and remained there until his father sold out in 1848. He then devoted his time to farming. Nancy was the daughter of Elizabeth Boggs, who in turn was the daughter of Ezekiel Boggs & Eva Catharine Haney. Elizabeth Boggs was an older sister of Sarah Boggs who was the third wife of Jacob Rench, the father of Emanuel Rench. Emanuel and Nancy had five sons and three daughters. By 1883 one son and one daughter had died. Both Emanuel and Nancy were members of the German Baptist Church.
