OBITUARY-Mary Elizabeth Hooker

Mary Elizabeth Hooker, daughter of J.T. (sic) Hooker and Margaret Hooker, was born in Browning, Missouri September 27, 1864 and passed away in Leon, Iowa June 26, 1955 at the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 30 days.

She was united in marriage to Sylvester Jacobs April 17, 1888 and to this union six children were born, one baby deceased in infancy. She leaves to mourn her passing her five children; Clarence of Cherry Point, Canada, Hester Bright of Lineville, Fred of Unionville, Mo., Gordon of Los Angeles, Calif., and Gale also of Los Angeles, Calif., a brother Jerry Hooker of Lineville, nieces, nephews, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of neighbors and friends.

She spent her entire life in northern Missouri and southern Iowa, having lived in or near Lineville 46 years.

She was a member of the Methodist church for over 40 years. She remained an active member of her Sunday School and church activities as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services were held in the Greenlee funeral parlor in Lineville Wednesday, June 29, 1955 at 2:30 p.m. with burial in the Evergreen cemetery.
