OBITUARY - James “Ned” Mundell services held on Dec. 10th
James Nesbert Mundell, son of James Abner and Mary Melissa Mundell, was born July 10, 1886, in Linn County, Missouri and passed away December 8, 1969 at the Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan, Missouri at the age of 83 years 4 months and 28 days.
On January 15, 1920 he was united in marriage to Pearl Kimbrough, who preceded him in death December 25, 1961.
To this union were born nine children, one dying in infancy. Those surviving are: Marilea Moeller, Galesburg, Illinois; Nelson, Moline, Illinois; Norris, New London, Mo.; Junius, Browning; Joyce Aldridge, Galesburg, Ill.; Richard, Slidell, La. Also surviving are: 24 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three sisters; Mrs. Bernice Riley, Brookfield, Mrs. Naomi Kimbrough, Meadville and Mrs. Alpha Powell of St. Joseph, Mo.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister and two grandchildren. He was a member of Browning United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1969 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Cecil Lackore officiating; soloist, Velma Jennings and Mrs. Joe Nevins, organist. Pallbearers were George Prather, Jerry Jennings, Phillip Grice, Jerry Hedges, Cale Hedgages and Harley Hawkins. Burial was in Dry Ridge cemetery.
