Joyce interviewed me for a job at PIMALCO. i was in the US Navy so we got off to a good start. we sat and told sea stories to each other..he told me he and other UDT's used to swim into German ports in WWII to put magnetic mines on the ships to blow them up. they had to cut thru the sub nets protecting the ports so the Germans knew they were coming and would send divers down to intercept Joyce's teams. when they met they would have knife fights under water but the surviving UDT's would continue with their mission then have to fight their way back out to sea. i was very honored to have met such a brave, heroic man.

Found this website accidentally. My wife is descendant of the Bloughs. I have been doing a lot of research on the Blough line over the years. Would be more than willing to share information I have with anyone. I have some documentation and am constantly working on acquiring more.

I came across this website by accident. I am related through William Steven Matthews. His daughter Nellie Blanche Matthews is my fathers mother. My dad is Jack DeWayne Willison. Nellie Blanche Matthews married Wilbur Ord Willison. I have written genealogy books for over 35 years and am interested in the Matthews line. I would be willing to share information. I go through Edward E. Matthews, Samuel Matthew 1791, Samuel Matthews 1737, John Matthews married Grace Vittery. That is the very first Matthews I could find. Would be interested to hear from another realtive.

Helen Carolyn Brower and Thomas Heard were my maternal grandmother's parents. Her name is Dessie Ocile Heard Reid (married William Archer "Doonie" Reid) in front of Preacher Cabe on November 30, 1913, Lono, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, per the records listed in Dallas County. I just keep trying to find all I can about our family. Enjoy reading all this information.

I just stumbled onto this website, and am interested in knowing more about the Hooker name. I am a 5th generation Hooker living in the states. I have been told that my ancestors came from Germany, Holt, Vomberg, and Frankfort. My immediate family came to Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina, then to Tennessee. This part of Tennessee was a part of North Carolina at that time.
Thanks, and I would be interested in knowing more about my surname, which is Des Von Hooker.

So much fun to see your website. My great-grandmother was Florence Hooker. She married Glenn Wheeler. Their daughter Wilma, who we all called "Mamie", was my grandmother. My husband David Kingsley and I have 2 sons, Davis Tower Kingsley and John Wheeler Kingsley.
