He lived alone near Glenwood, AL. He was found dead May 14, 2003, in his kitchen and appeared to have died of a heart attack. M. J. Davis described him as eccentric hermit who had amassed a sizeable amount of money, most of which he left to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home. When he was found in May, his last mail had been picked up on April 1. Graveside services were held on Monday, May 18, 2003, at Providence Cemetery with M. J. (Bubba) Davis officiating, Turner Funeral Home directing. Survivors included a number of cousins. 1965
