Mary Lee Neeper graduated from Glenbard South High School in Glen Ellen in 1974 and went on to college at Baylor University. On 19 June 1976 she married Albert Wayne Steele in Jackson, Mississippi (B. 16 February 1953, in Greenwood, Mississippi). She continued her schooling and graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree from Belhaven College in 1978. Al graduated from Baylor University and was attending medical school in Jackson when they married and Laura Lee Steele was born on 8 June 1978. Al finished medical school there and did some residency work in Galveston, Texas but finished his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where Mark Andrew Steele was born on 19 October 1981. Al established his practice in Jackson, Mississippi where David Tyler Steele was born on 15 October 1986.
