Jabez made his Will 20 Nov 1861. It was probated Feb 1863 (Will Book F, pg 289 - Vanceburg, Lewis County, KY). One record in family Bible states "Jabez was killed by a minnie ball while charging Cumberland Gap. "Another record says "Jabez was wounded in a battle at Memphis, TN, and died on the Ohio River on the way home." 1745
