Clara May Wolf ¹⁶⁹⁵

Clara Wolf was my great grandmother. According to the grave marker, her dob was 4/16/1875, dod was 2/10/1967. She came with her family in a covered wagon across the Mississippi River when she was 6 yrs old. They supposedly came from or near Terre Haute, Indiana. I don't know if that is where she was born or where they left from to move here. While my granddad was growing up, they lived north of Collins, Mo. Edward Truitt was a blacksmith. At some point she/they moved from the farm north of Collins to a house in Collins, where she lived until her death. The house burned down at some point, I think after she died. Clara was a nice lady, and I have some photos of her, but there seems to be little known about her. My Mom says she thinks Clara may have been Native American but is not sure.
Clara and Edward had three children: Homer, Claude and Cecil.
1. I really don't know much about Homer.
2. Claude was married and had two sons: Robert and Gerald, both of whom lived in California.Gerald died a year or so ago. Uncle Claude was buried I believe at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA. 3. Cecil was my grandfather. He married Opal Martin and they had four children: Joyce, Wayne (my dad), Robert and Shirley. They lived near Humansville, MO their entire married life. Both of them died in 1999. Grandpa died 11/99. ¹⁶⁹⁵

Clara married Edward Franklin Truitt, son of Elisha Parker Truitt and Minerva Catherine Robinson, on 31 May 1895.¹⁶⁹⁵ (Edward Franklin Truitt was born on 21 Jun 1871 ¹⁶⁹⁵ and died on 28 Dec 1946 ¹⁶⁹⁵.)
