I have an R. C. Pender in my family charts. R. C. Pender, a minister, married Rebecca Cope in Upshur County, Texas in 1881. They had two children before Rebecca died in 1887. She is buried in a lone grave in Pittsburgh, Camp County, Texas. The two children were included in the division of the estate of Rebecca Cope Pender's deceased brother Albert Cope many years later. I have copies of those hand written records, Camp County, Texas probate records, as well as family Bible records.
Rebecca's name in family bibles is Rebecca Aletha Cope. She was born Jan. 5, 1860 and died June 3, 1887. She is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas. Robert and Rebecca had two children. Annie Pender, b. 1882, d. May 6, 1976 at Dallas, Texas, was married to Josh Wood. The other was Robert B. Pender, b. about 1883.
My information is based on reading of public records, copies of probate records, family bible records, newspaper accounts, and interviews with grandchildren of Annie Pender, as well as other relatives, some still living in Camp and Upshur Counties, Texas. 1696
