John and Julia eventually settled in Putnam Co OH. He was a carpenter and also served as squire of Putnam Co. He is buried in Rice, OH and has many descendents around Defiance OH. John moved from Hamilton county to Miami county where he bought a water powered Grist Mill and Saw Mill. He married Julia Snodgrass in Miami Co. John was one of the pioneers of Monroe Twp. Putnam Co OH. When he came to Putnam Co , it was a wilderness with vast forests, mosquitoes, swamps, and frog ponds.. He cleared up a large farm of very rich land. According to James L. Boggs, John is buried in Rice, OH and had many descendants in 1960 around Defiance, OH. He was a carpenter and also served as squire of Putnam Co. OH. John and Julia had a son John A. Boggs Jr. who was just an infant when brought to Putnam County from Miami County where he was born on 30 Oct. 1832. ⁶⁴¹
