WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Weavers celebrate 40th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weaver of Richland Township celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a dinner at the Geistown County Club. Mr. Weaver and the former Elizabeth Sterle were married May 18, 1957, at St. Therese's Catholic Church, by the Rev. Andrew Sveta. They are the parents of two children. There are three grandchildren.

OBITUARY

WEAVER -- Robert P., 70, Richland, died Jan. 6, 2002, at UPMC Lee Regional. Born June 15, 1931, in Windber, son of Warren P. and Freda M. (Shumaker) Weaver. Preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law Louis Jessell; and nephew, Tom Jessell. Survived by wife, former Elizabeth A. Sterle; children, Dianne, wife of Timothy Verostick; and Mark, married to former Michelle Kipp, both of Richland; and grandchildren, Corey Verostick, and Nicole and Megan Weaver. Brother of Frances, wife of Bruce Garman, Colver; Warren "Bud," married to former Jeanette Bostock, Richland; and Joan Jessell , Richland. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Army veteran of the Korean War. Retired with 30 years' service as a crane operator in the Gautier Division, 14-inch Mill, Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. Member of Scalp Level Church of the Brethren, Quemahoning Trap and Skeet Club, American Legion and TPA. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m . Wednesday at the Scalp Level Church, the Rev. Ronald St. Clair officiating. Entombment, Richland Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites by Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team . Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 an d 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at The Harris Funeral Home, 500 Chery Lane, Richland, and one hour prior to service at the church.
