WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Weavers to Share 50th Anniversary
Two brothers and their wives, who were married Oct. 20, 1923, in a double ceremony, will observe their 50th wedding anniversaries together with a family dinner and open house. They are Mr. and Mrs. Warren P. Weaver of 152 Macridge Ave. and Mr. and Mrs. Ortha L. Weaver of 425 Bob St. Open house will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Scalp Level Church of the Brethren. Warren P. Weaver and the former Fred A. Shumaker, and Ortha L. Weaver and the former Rose B. Lehman were married by the Rev. Lewis Knepper. The couples have observed their wedding anniversaries together for the past 49 years. Warren P. Weaver retired from the former Berwin d-White Coal Co. after 32 years of service. Mr. and Mrs. Ortha L. Weaver both are retired schoolteachers, having a combined total of 75 years of service with the former Adams Township School District. All four are members of the Scalp Level Church, where they have been deacons and deaconesses for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Warren P. Weaver are the parents of four children -- Frances, wife of Bruce Garman; Warren E., married to the former Jeanette Bostock; Joan, wife of Louis Jessel; and Tober, married to the former Elizabeth Sterle. There are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Ortha L. Weaver are the parents of six children -- Dwight, married to the former Dorothy Lee; Donald, married to the former Twila Levergood; Dorothy, wife of Glenn Hershberger; Duane, married to the former Ileen Lenzo; Jack, married to the former Barbara Wehrer; and Denise, wife of James Hayes. There are 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
