OBITUARY -- WINGARD - Orie A.
WINGARD - Orie A., 92, Davidsville, died Nov. 26, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 9, 1914, in Hollsopple, son of Ammon and Hettie Ellen (Kaufman) Wingard. Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, the former Minnie Alwine; brothers, John and Paul; and sisters, Minnie Miller and Eva Wagner. Survived by wife of 63 years, the former Helen Niesner; son, David L., married to the former Patti Hill, Davidsville; grandchildren, Tricia Wingard, Williamsburg, Va., and Matthew, and wife Lauren, Johnstown; and great-grandchildren, Draven and Delanie. Brother of Robert, Stoystown; Jacob Willard Wingard, married to the former Ollie Safko, Johnstown; and Freda Mahler, Wellsboro. Also survived by special caregiver, Carolyn Burkett; special niece, Patricia Rodarm, Florida; and many other nieces and nephews. Member of Kaufman Mennonite Church. Retired from Griffith-Custer Steel Co. Family received friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kaufman Mennonite Church, the Rev. Don Hamsher and the Rev. Keith Yoder officiating. Interment, Kaufman Cemetery.
