OBITUARY 1 -- Betty Baumgardner

Mrs. Betty Baumgardner, 81, of Clarkesville, formerly of Somerset, Pa., died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at a private nursing facility following an extended illness.

Born in Somerset, Pa., on July 15, 1922, Mrs. Baumgardner was the daughter of the late John and Ivy Pearl King Duppstadt.

She was a retired secretary and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset, Pa. Mrs. Baumgardner was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Baumgardner, and a son, the Rev. Ken Baumgardner.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 28, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating. Burial was in County Memorial Park.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Elaine Baumgardner, Clarkesville; nephews, Dale Duppstadt, Mechanicsburgh, Pa., Arthur Duppstadt, York, Pa., and Danny Duppstadt, Hershey, Pa.; and several cousins.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Marion Elizabeth "Betty" Baumgardner, 81, of Clarkesville, Ga., formerly of Somerset, died July 24, 2003 at Habersham Nursing Home, Demorest, Ga. Born July 15, 1922 in Somerset. Daughter of John and Ivy Pearl (King) Duppstadt. Preceded in death by parents, husband Harry Baumgardner who died in 1985, son, Rev. Kenneth L. Baumgardner who died Feb. 18, 2003, and brothers William and Harold Duppstadt. Survived by daughter-in-law Elaine (Murray) Baumgardner of Clarkesville, Ga.; nephews Dale Duppstadt of Mechanicsburg; Arthur Duppstadt of York and Danny Duppstadt of Hershey. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Retired secretary for Somerset Area Ambulance Association. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ where a service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Jay E. Shaffer officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 202 West Union St., Somerset, Pa. 15501. Arrangements by Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home.
