David Hughes Hepburn Jr. ¹²¹⁵

  General Notes:

David Hughes Hepburn was born in January 4, 1958 at San Francisco General Hospital. He was placed up for adoption by his birth mother, a Ms. Lira,and was adopted by David and Daisy Hepburn shortly after his birth. David and Daisy were missionaries with the Salvation Army and were serving north of San Francisco at the Litton Home for children.

David spent the first years of his life in CA and later moved with his family to San Juan, Puerto Rico. He and his sister lived in Puerto Rico for four years. They returned to the US and David and Daisy retired Rico for Army.

David grew up in many places in the US - but spent a good portion of his young life in Minneapolis, MN. He attended Minnehaha Academy in St. Paul where his dad was Music Director. David graduated Minnehaha in 1975 and attended Bethel College and Seminary in Minneapolis. He also attended the U of Minn. to work towards a Master's degree in Education.

In 1982, David left MN and came to Felton, CA to be close to his parents. His father, David, was serving as Camp Director for Mission Springs, a Christian conference center located in Mt. Hermon, CA. David got a job working at Runner's World Magazine in Mt. View, CA. He worked in advertising sales from 1982-1985. Later he worked for the San Jose Business Journal as Advertising Sales Director, 1985-1988. In 1988, David started his own magazine, South Bay Sports, a local publication that highlighted sports in the valley. He sold SBS in 1990 and started his own advertising promotions business.

In 1996, David decided he had had enough of the earthquakes and California-ites and moved to the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, AZ. His parents had retired here in 1994.

Since moving to Phoenix, David has continued his advertising promotions business and also has continued to organize golf tournaments (his passion). ¹²²²
