Mary Melissa Mundell was born in Linn County 17 Nov. 1855 to William and Eberline Elizabeth Jennings Hooker and died 14 Jan. 1943 at the home of daughter Bernice Riley near North Salem. 7 February 1875 married James Abner Mundell who died 16 Jan. 1916. Children born, Ellsworth and an infant deceased; Oscar of Unioville(sic), Nova of Tumcumcari NM. Clark of San Jon NM, Era Schrock of Spokane Wa., Ned, Bernice Riley, Alpha Powell and Naomi Kimbrough of near Browning survive with a sister Elizabeth Corey of Toledo OH., half sisters Edith Kimber of Centerville Ia. and Mattie Turner of Chicago. Preceded in death by husband, sons, sisters Lucy Graham and Florence Hooker, half sister, Dora Urbach and Alice Peters, step sister Mary F. Mundell, half brother James Moffitt. Burial in the Dry Ridge Cemetery.
