OBITUARY -- Catherine Brookshire
Catherine, widow of Benjamin Allen L. Brookshire, was born in Washington county, Missouri, Decmeber 16, 1836 and was a daughter of Alfred R. and Permelia Anthony and Aug. 12, 1856, she married B. Allen L. Brookshire. She was of a family of 6 children, 3 of whom survive her, namely: Mrs. Lucy Woods, Mrs. Jerome Ledgerwood and Mrs. ___ Ryckman. She is the mother of 10 children__ of whom survive her, 32 grand children, 30 still living. She was a member of the M. E. Church many years. She died 2 miles north of Beulah in Phelps county, Missouri March 11, 1899 at half past 3 o’clock in the morning, aged 62 ys, __ months and 25 days. Buried at Relfe, March 12, 1899 at 2 p.m. A funeral discourse was preached by me at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church July 16, 1899 at 1 p.m., Sunday in connection with her husband. J. J. Watts 836
