OBITUARIES

Kenneth W. Duppstadt, Sr.

Kenneth W. Duppstadt, Sr., 65 of Newville, formerly of Somerset County, passed away April 24, 2007, in Holy Spirit Hospital.

Born November 16, 1941 in Somerset County, to the late Elwood Sr. and Freda Mae King Duppstadt.

He graduated from Shanksville-Stonycreek High School in 1959. He joined the Army thereafter. He did a tour in Vietnam and several overseas tours. He retired after 22 years. He enjoyed being with family, sitting outside in the sun. He also enjoyed watching T.V. He was an avid Steeler and Pirates fan.

He is survived by his four children; Kenneth Jr. and girlfriend Joan of Virginia, Lorena Duppstadt Negley and husband Steve of Newville, Tina Duppstadt Shaver and husband Jeff of Somerset and Susan Duppstadt Frederick and husband Bobby of Newville. He is survived by the following grandchildren; Jacob, Joseph, Cassandra, Jessica, Danielle, Cherisa, Pamela, Carl, and one great-grandson; Aidan. He is also survived by the following sisters; Dorothy, Minnie, Edna, Shirley, Janet, Jean and brothers; Claude, Elwood Jr., Jerry, and Merle. He is proceeded in death by the following; Ellen, Donald, Jay, Orie, Lois and Tom.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. William E. Pipp officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2007 and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by Cumberland County Honor Guard.
