OBITUARY
DUPPSTADT '96 Jerry G., 60, Central City, died Jan. 1, 2010, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born April 24, 1949, in Shanksville, son of Elwood Sr. and Freda (King) Duppstadt. Preceded in death by parents; five brothers; and two sisters. Survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Karen Carmany, and children, Christopher, and girlfriend, Jami Demaniou, Central City, and Justin, Stoystown. Brother of Dorothy Troy, Friedens; Minnie Davis, Pittsburgh; Edna Stutzman, and husband, Clyde, Pittsburgh; Claude Duppstadt, and wife, Gwen, North Carolina; Shirley Otto, and husband James, Schellsburg; Elwood Jr., and wife, Sidney, Cairnbrook; and Merle Duppstadt, Janet Duppstadt, and Emma Burket, and husband, William, all of Shanksville. Also mother-in-law, Myrtle Carmany, and brother-in-law, Eric Carmany, both of Central City; numerous nieces and nephews; and two godsons, William Lenart and Davin Winfield. Member of Graef's Lutheran Church, Cairnbrook. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word search books and sitting by an open fire. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Graef's Lutheran Church, Pastor Jerri Morton officiating. Interment, Shade Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Karen Duppstadt, 277 Leppert Road, Central City, Pa. 15926 to assist with funeral expenses.
