MAHLER
John Karl Mahler, 83, Friedens, died Nov. 10, 1996, at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born Feb. 18, 1913, in Johnstown, son of David and Christina (Boerstler) Mahler. Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Elizabeth (Helbig) Wolf-Mahler; brother, William, and an infant brother and sister. Survived by wife of 53 years, the former Freda Wingard, and these children: Robert and Darlene, married to Glenn Klink, both of Friedens; Caroline, Coconut Creek, Fla.; Larry, Brentwood, Tenn.; Linda Duppstadt, Rockingham, N.C.; Catherine, married to Kim Metzgar, Wellsboro; Wanda, married to Dr. Richard Elsea, Swoope, Va., and Connie Crum, Milford; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Brother of Jacob Wolf of McKees Rocks; Mrs. Peter (Emma) Barta and Mary, widow of Don DeArmitt, both of Stoystown RD 3, and Walter, married to the former Marjorie Richey, Hooversville RD 1. Retired from Highland Tank and Mfg., Stoystown. Member of Reading Grace Brethren Church. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Reading Grace Brethren Church, Rev. Larry R. Weigle. Interment, Lambertsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Reading Grace Brethren Church, RD 3 Stoystown, Pa., 15563.
